In 1993, Macroom-born Ms Kelleher became the first ever female to receive a PhD from the National Microelectronics Research Centre, which is now part of the Tyndall National Institute at UCC.
Meanwhile, BComm graduate Ms Kearney has overseen the expansion of Apple’s European headquarters in Cork which employs more than 5,000 staff.
