Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

BROOKINGS — Class registration for new and current members has begun for the OLLI 2023 fall semester that runs from September through November. Class or tour subjects include arts, history, current events, health, science, technology, travel, cuisine, literature and more.

The OLLI catalog features 47 classes in Brookings, 58 in Sioux Falls, 27 in Vermillion and 31 on Zoom.

Brookings neighbors and good friends Ann Eichinger and Kathy Miller have been OLLI members for many years. They are very familiar with the excitement that surrounds a new semester OLLI catalog.

Both of them appreciate the large variety of classes and tours offered that will help to increase their knowledge and keep them active and involved.

This fall, some of the many classes Ann is taking include Three Comedies by Neil Simon (the art of comedy), The Quest for Equality in the United States (evolving equality) and tours of SDSU Frost Arena Renovations and Lincoln Hall.

For Kathy, she is excited to add to her long class list The Future World of Artificial Intelligence (from science fiction to science fact), Some Things You May Not Know about China (history and current events) and Let Your Hammer Ring (examination of work songs).

Ann and Kathy enjoy getting out, meeting new people and seeing familiar faces that share common interests with them.

Being an OLLI member has added a lot to enrich their lives.

Both are looking forward to learning for the love of it through OLLI and encourage others to do the same.
