‘New Worlds: Women to Watch’ at NMWA mashes up sci-fi and ancient myth

Biological and ecological concerns are as common as cultural ones in “New Worlds: Women to Watch 2024,” the seventh and largest of the triennial surveys of emerging female artists organized by the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Stories of women’s physical survival, whether autobiographical or speculative, are among the most often told in the showcase of work by 28 participants from the Americas, Europe and Asia, some of them selected by the museum’s global network of outreach committees.
