International Women’s Day 2024: Hong Kong events to honour and celebrate womanhood
Make the most of this women-centric day and month with a range of female-focused events, ranging from panel discussions on recovering from eating disorders to survivor talks on the pressing need to protect girls around the world
International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8, is around the corner, which means there’s a plethora of women-centric events taking place in Hong Kong around this time. Whether it’s panel talks or pampering that you are interested in, this gives ladies a chance to press ‘pause’ on their busy schedules and prioritise an activity that truly stimulates them. What: Women of Hong Kong has a strong line-up of events around International Women’s Day. On March 7, ladies can enjoy a combination of relaxation and networking at a candle-making workshop hosted by Candle Up. Also browse through clothing, jewellery and home decor from local brands, and also indulge in tarot card reading sessions if you want.
Then on March 9, join a panel discussion that will delve into topics such as inclusive leadership, ageism bias and more. The speakers include Women of Hong Kong founder Sarah Vee and Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation founder Lindsey McAlister.
And on March 10, Women of Hong Kong, in collaboration with local NGO Help for Domestic Workers, will honour the migrant domestic workers community by curating several engaging activities for them, such as an acupuncture session, and a salsa class.
