Deloitte, UTP ink mentor-mentee MoU
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Deloitte Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) to collaborate on various student development initiatives.
In a statement, UTP highlighted that the key component of the MoU which was signed yesterday is the Kickstarter mentorship programme aimed at steering and accelerating student-led corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.
Under this programme, a UTP student is paired with a Deloitte consultant in a mentor-mentee relationship geared towards helping the student become a successful social entrepreneur.
The programme for selected students will begin with a virtual Kickstarter that will equip them with the skill to start up a social enterprise.
Generally, the Deloitte-UTP programme is a two-day online course where consultants provide advice and coaching as students embark on their projects.
Deloitte Southeast Asia consulting executive director and Deloitte Malaysia consulting leader, Kavita Rekhraj, said that it is heartening to see the passion in UTP students wanting to serve their communities.
“Deloitte is proud to provide support through our skills, knowledge and business acumen to help students make an impact that matters in our communities,” she said.
