Alstom, the global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, is celebrating after winning two major awards for the seventh consecutive year.

Alstom was presented with both the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team Award and the Social Value Award at the event, which recognizes companies that have made a significant contribution to improving gender balance, diversity and inclusion in the UK rail industry.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team Award

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team Award recognized Alstom for the tangible and positive impact its efforts have on its workforce and beyond.

The jury said: “Alstom’s leadership was aware that its culture was not creating the desired diverse and representatively balanced workforce. They listened, learned, nurtured and strengthened Alstom’s ‘silent voices’ to create and embed an inclusive and resilient culture; Creating four employee networks that carry the voices of Women, Disability, Cultural Diversity and Pride+.”

Elsewhere, Alstom’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) ambassadors and school support program helped 9.000 students in deprived areas last year alone.

Alstom was also Highly Commended by Women in Rail for its ‘Springboard’ initiative in their Best Training or Development Program Award. Springboard is a dedicated development program that encourages and supports women to compete for senior positions at Alstom UK and Ireland.
