‘Aarohan Scheme’ for Mentor-Mentee programme organized
DIBRUGARH: The Dibrugarh district administration organized ‘Aarohan Scheme’ for Mentor-Mentee programme for the talented students of Class IX to XII of Assam, where a teacher being the mentor will be guiding the students who will be the mentees for various skills and developments.
The Aarohan scheme is one such initiative envisioned by the Chief Minister of Assam. Mentors will assist selected students of new generation in ascending and excelling in their career and in life.
The programme was basically on the interaction of the students with the District Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Biswajit Pegu.
The programme began with the lighting of lamps by Dibrugarh DC Biswajit Pegu, SP Shwetank Mishra, Shivani Jherngal, Assistant Commissioner, DDC, and others. The welcome speech was given by SP of Dibrugarh district, Shwetank Mishra and he enlightened the students present in the auditorium by his precious words of inspiration and motivation.
He said in his speech that the candidates who clear IAS and other UPSC exams are just normal human beings and students only require to inhabit the qualities of hard work, perseverance, along with proper guidance, motivation and an organized platform to boost their talents and skills. He motivated the students to consult with their Mentors and take good advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
The District Commissioner of Dibrugarh district, Biswajit Pegu presented an exhilarating speech where he mentioned that the Aarohan Scheme should not be considered as a scheme rather as a noble cause executed for the uplift of the students who are passionate on focusing on their career dreams and fulfilling their dreams by achieving their goals in their lives with proper guidance and motivation. He further added that till date from Dibrugarh district about 190 teachers and 160 students are registered under this scheme in the website and more registrations are expected.
The teachers who will be the Mentors will be guiding and motivating the students in their study field so that they can excel in their goals and shine in the society. He further added that the passion and goals in life of different people are different and accordingly they should be guided. He further stated about his personal experience as a Mentor of a student who wants to be a pilot and how he is motivating her to take science and clear NDA exams.
The programme continued with a brief interaction between the students and DC Dibrugarh Biswajit Pegu. They asked him about his preparation during the UPSC exams etc. The students also interacted with Shivani Jherngal, presently posted as Assistant Commissioner in Dibrugarh, who is an IAS officer of 2022 batch, about her preparation for the UPSC. She replied that she devoted a minimum four hours of study regularly with utmost hard work.
