A look ahead to a nationwide celebration of innovation
The first UK Tech Week is just around the corner, with more than 30 confirmed events set to take place across the nations and regions.
The inaugural event, running from 23 April to 25 April, aims to showcase the tech innovation and entrepreneurism taking place across the UK.
UK Tech Week will see separate events take place concurrently at tech hubs across the country, from Newcastle to Newport and Bristol to Birmingham.
It is being supported by national advocacy groups such as techUK and the Startup Coalition, along with regional support organisations including Cambridge Tech Week and TechWM.
Stuart Clarke MBE, founder of UK Tech Week, said the event’s theme is “bringing UK tech together”.
Clarke added: “Participants in UK Tech Week will not only be taking part in a nationwide celebration of the UK’s tech talent and innovation; they can also use the opportunity to promote to a wider audience their own regional events that take place throughout the year.”
The broad range of events includes regional-specific themes – such as Tramshed Tech’s panel on UKTN’s Wales report – along with sector-specific events on topics such as AI, green tech and IoT.
In addition to providing insights, the week will be full of networking opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors.
The event has also received government backing from Tech Minister Saqib Bhatti.
“Across the UK, innovative entrepreneurs are driving economic growth and helping to solve our biggest challenges, from tackling the climate crisis to advances in healthcare,” said Bhatti.
“UK Tech Week is a great opportunity to celebrate the best of UK tech, showcasing the strength of our tech ecosystems right across the country.”
UK Tech Week kicks off with a launch event in Birmingham on 22 April, with core events taking place from 23 April to 25 April.
UKTN, which is supporting UK Tech Week as a media partner, has compiled a list of all the events taking place.
